Police officers are expected to provide security for the people and their possessions of a country. Some individuals believe that it can foster higher level of violence if police officer caries guns. In this essay, I will disagree with this statement because without guns it is tough for them to ensure security for themselves and for general public.
On the one hand, there are a wide range of reasons about the necessity of carrying gun with them. Police officers have to navigate various operations with a view to detain the criminals. Criminals always keep dangerous weapons with them to conduct crime. Facing the criminals without weapons is nothing but leading life to danger. Sometime police officer have to sacrifice their life fighting with robbers even taking extreme preparation.
In addition, it is our intention that we are unlikely to grow confidence and trust over police officer if they do not use guns. In some situation, rules and legislation are not enough for the wellbeing of general people. For example, when the bank officers bring huge amount of money from place to another with the help of police officer, it is a must to take guns with them. In every sphere of life where people need help from police, they have to come froward physically.
To sum up, police officer plays a significant role in building the nation. They have to do their duties carefully carrying guns with them otherwise there is risk of losing their life at any time by their enemies.
