There is an ongoing debate about whether determination and hard work pave the way for one’s success, while others argue that money and appearance play a bigger role. True, appearance and monetary resources can provide opportunities to success, but I firmly believe that perseverance and effort are far more crucial in achieving long-term goals.
On the one hand, a case can be made that wealth and looks help individuals to become successful. This is because these features provide them with many opportunities, enabling them to achieve their goals effortlessly. In other words, finances open the way for people to pursue higher education, while those who do not have enough money might not. Also, in the film industry, actors and actresses are chosen by their appearance and physical shape. For example, Kristen Stewart was selected to play in the series called Twilight, mainly because of her charming appearance rather than her acting range. Consequently, both privileges lead people to become successful overnight, unlike individuals who do not have these opportunities.
I, however, agree with those who believe perseverance and diligence matter far more than just wealth and looks, as they make people disciplined. Being successful takes time; that is why individuals try to be consistent in their effort, adapting to discipline. For instance, athletes must train for years to become a champion, which takes hard work, determination, and discipline. Additionally, in effect, their personalities will be shaped toward greater positivity and maturity. This is because they experience different situations and might have both positive and negative days. As a result, they are unlikely to fall easily in the long term and can manage to handle the difficulties they will face.
To sum up, although financial resources and appearance can open the door to success, I wholeheartedly believe commitment and persistence are more important when it comes to pursuing long-term goals.
