There is an ongoing debate regarding the impact of technology on education. A group of individuals believe that, there is a great importance of technology in education for young learners for being well-educated however, others argue that it is harmful for their studying process, leading to distractions and over-reliance on technological tools. Therefore, ahead of my opinion, both views will be discussed further.
Examining the former opinion, the primary argument the supporters would put forward is that technology can help to learning unlimited knowledge. This is because online platforms such as online e-books, online educational sites, educational videos allow students to explore various subjects beyond traditional textbooks. In addition, they also believe that technology fosters interactive learning experiences. The reason is that the educational tools, like virtual simulations, Al tutors make studying more engaging and more effective, catering to different learning style.
On the contrary, those in favour of the latter opinion have their own arguments. To begin with, they claim that technology leads to distractions. The reason is that students often pay attention social media, online games, and entertainment websites instead of focusing on their studies. Moreover, excessive reliance on technology can weaken students’ problem-solving abilities. This is because many students use search engines or Al-generated responses rather than thinking critically and analyzing problems on their own. For instance, plagiarism and dependence on quick answers may decrease intellectual development.
To conclude and offer my position, there are convincing arguments both for and against the use of technology in education. However, I certainly favor the former opinion. While technology can be distracting, its benefits in providing educational resources and fostering interactive learning outweigh the drawbacks. With proper supervision and responsible usage, technology can be a powerful tool in enhancing the studying process.
