Unquestionably, every coin has two sides and so are the people. It is believed that some commentators are of the view that libraries are built by governments as a charitable task whereas others feel that they should not. In this essay, I will examine both sides of the argument and give my overall opinion.
From an overall perspective, there are some major reasons why people believe that government should build libraries in each town. Perhaps the main reason why people are in favour this idea is because that building libraries in each town is not only an investment for our future but also motivate our children to study different types of books. A good illustration of this idea is that when people go to the library, they can explore various types of books which stimulates them to learn new topics. As a result, they become self-educated person. Secondly, after spending time in libraries, we can reduce our screening time as well as spending quality time with friends.
Despite these arguments, there is also a case for this idea that governments should not invest their funding to build libraries. The main reason why people think that this is a good idea is because what we learn in libraries, we can easily learn it in our home by using mobile phones or computers with having an internet connection. However, when we are at home studying anything on the internet, we face a lot of distractions such as text message from social media and browsing less important things. Moreover, it also increases our screening time which causes numerous types of eyesight problems. In a recent study, doctors advised that if we continuously read articles via digital screen devices rather than using hard books from libraries causes serious eyesight issues.
In conclusion, it must be evident that to encourage our future generations to study more, governments should implement their funding to establish more libraries in each town.
