Some individuals debate over the subject of what the government should spend cash on; Some might say the government should use the money to fund the many unsolved problems we have currently, while others think it will be more suitable towards looking for life on other planets. However, if we put aside the many issues we have on Earth, such as climate change, it could lead to potential threats towards the Earth. Because of this I strongly believe that we should prioritize spending money towards the problems on Earth before looking for life on other planets.
We have many unresolved problems on Earth such as: Deforestation, Climate change, Plastic pollution, etc. For example, Deforestation removes the habitat of many species of animals and strengthens climate change. On the other hand, even if we were to know whether or not there is life on other planets, with all these problems capable of harming our environment, why would we want to discover life on other planets leaving our own to wither?
In conclusion, I strongly believe that it is unnecessary to start looking for life on other planets before solving our current problems we have on earth due to the fact that the modern problems we have now can harm us more than finding life on other planets can benefit us.
