Band 6+: The best way to learn a culture is to learn its language. Do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

There is an ongoing debate concerning the most effective method of acquiring a new culture of a particular country or region. While I acknowledge that language undoubtedly serves as a vital tool for understanding indigenous culture, I hold the opinion that it is not the sole approach of achieving linguistic mastery that are of equal importance. The following paragraphs will shed light on both perspectives before concluding with my stance.

On the one hand, there are valid reasons why people may support that the close connection between language and culture cannot be denied. Firstly, intangible cultural heritages such as norms and customs, lifestyles, cuisines or even language reflect the values, beliefs, and historical contexts of a society, which implies that the appreciation of the cultural significance of this concept through language to foster a deeper understanding of social interactions between humans. This suggests that those who endorse this perspective may benefit from hostile culture’s comprehensive picture.

On the other hand, I strongly believe that a lot of other efficient methods such as customs, lifestyles or cuisines also hold considerable weight. For instance, a tourist visiting Italy may understand various local cultures for art, architecture, and cuisine by such as partaking in a traditional cooking class or exploring historical sites, which indicates that when an individual keeps his passion on a new culture which make him fell engaged and urges him to try all approaches to immerse this late one. As a result, one cannot overlook the significance of other unique and effective methods in this regard.

In conclusion, although linguistic proficiency appears advantageous in certain respects, I am convinced that other way to obtain a new culture above is equally vital due to the diversity of many effective approaches to a late culture leads to opening communication and the expansion of knowledge. Looking ahead, I predict that the majority of culture of all countries will be acknowledged and more and more common in the future.
