Nowaday, people try to come up with and implement many solutions to solve environmental issues. From my viewpoint, I disagree partly with the opinion that the world’s environmental problems can best be solved by increasing the fuel costs of vehicles.
Firstly, I do believe that raising fuel costs can address the environment problem of the world to some extent. Higher fuel costs can change consumer behavior. When fuel is expensive, people tend to pay attention to their usage, leading to use less cars and reduce consumption. For example, people can choose more eco-friendly options such as electric vehicles, carpooling, or using public transportation instead of spending a large amount of money to buy fuel. This, in turn, reduces smog and minimizes environmental harm.
On the other hand, I think that simply raising the cost of fuel is not the best solution to environmental problems. It needs to do with other measures to achieve the best result. Firstly, the government can invest in public transportation, incentivizing walking or cycling to reduce reliance on cars and lower emissions from the transportation sector. Furthermore, they should implement stricter regulations on industries and factories. Another way to reduce using fossil fuels is that entrepreneurs can invest more in transitioning to renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power. As an illustration, Tesla, billionaire Elon Musk’s company, is a leading company in creative electric cars, solar energy solutions and clean energy.
To conclude, solving environmental issues requires a multifaceted approach that is not beyond raising fuel costs. There are more effective ways combined with increasing the fuel costs like promulgating more policies to regulate emissions investing in renewable energy and eco-friendly transport. By implementing these measures, environmental issues can be minimized.
