Band 7+: The rising cost and decreasing supply of fossil fuels such as oil and gas, along with environmental concerns, mean that their continued use as our main source of energy is impractical and alternative sources must be found. The only realistic alternative is nuclear energy. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

The increasing cost and limited supply of fossil fuels such as oil and gas, together with environmental problems, make it difficult to continue using them as the main source of energy. There are some opinions that nuclear power is the only realistic alternative. However, I partly disagree with this opinion because other renewable energy sources can also play an important role.

On the one hand, nuclear power can be considered a useful alternative to fossil fuels. One major advantage is that it can produce a large amount of energy from a small amount of fuel. In addition, nuclear power plants do not release carbon dioxide during electricity generation, which helps reduce air pollution and slow down climate change. For this reason, many countries use nuclear energy as part of their strategy to reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

However, nuclear power should not be seen as the only realistic alternative. One significant problem is the potential danger of nuclear accidents, which can cause serious environmental and health problems. Furthermore, nuclear waste is highly radioactive and difficult to manage safely for long periods of time. Instead of relying only on nuclear power, governments can invest in renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power, which are cleaner and safer for the environment.

In conclusion, although nuclear power can help reduce the use of fossil fuels, it should not be considered the only solution. Renewable energy sources also have great potential and should be developed to create a more sustainable energy future.

The rising cost and decreasing supply of fossil fuels such as oil and gas, along with environmental concerns, mean that their continued use as our main source of energy is impractical and alternative sources must be found. The only realistic alternative is nuclear energy. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays, impractical of types of fossil fuels, similar to coal or oil in producing energy is getting higher, due to the price increase and the problem of global warming. I fully agree with the statement, that the nuclear energy is only realistic way to stay in plateau at the present, although it has some disadvatages. […]

The rising cost and decreasing supply of fossil fuels such as oil and gas, along with environmental concerns, mean that their continued use as our main source of energy is impractical and alternative sources must be found. The only realistic alternative is nuclear energy. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

The fossil fuel supply decreases along the way since it is a non-renewable energy, this imbalance between supply and demand creates the price of fossil fuel relatively higher along the time. Furthermore, the negative impact of fossil fuel to the environment has been widespread. One alternative energy, that is renewable and affordable, is nuclear energy. […]

The rising cost and decreasing supply of fossil fuels such as oil and gas, along with environmental concerns, mean that their continued use as our main source of energy is impractical and alternative sources must be found. The only realistic alternative is nuclear energy. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

The increasing price and declining supply of fossil fuels like oil and gas (non-renewable energy sources) come with environmental issues which make it difficult to continue using them as our primary energy sources. Therefore, some people argue that nuclear power is the only practical alternative. I strongly agree with this opinion beacuse nuclear energy is […]

The rising cost and decreasing supply of fossil fuels such as oil and gas, along with environmental concerns, mean that their continued use as our main source of energy is impractical and alternative sources must be found. The only realistic alternative is nuclear energy. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Utilization of oil and gas as the main source of energy still continues despite decreasing supply of fossil along with environmental concerns and cost increment, we need to find alternative energy sources. Nuclear energy is the only realistic alternative. I disagree with this statement because nuclear energy is not the only alternative energy that we […]

Many people nowadays are overspending and not saving money for their future. Why is this the case? Do you think this is a positive or a negative trend?

There is a growing trend where many people prefer to spend their money instead of accumulating it. I personally regard this shift as entirely negative, given that it brings significant long-term challenges, particularly leading to financial instability and psychological issues for individuals. A main concern related to wasting money is economic vulnerability for many people. […]

In recent times, a larger number of people are obese than in the past. To begin with, the main cause of being overweight is maintaining a diet. For example, in today’s world […]

some people believe that unpaid community service should be a compulsory part of high school programmes (for example working for a charity, improving the neighbourhood or teaching sports to younger children) Are you agree or disagree?

Whether teenagers should be required to undertake unpaid community service as part of their schooling is increasingly debated. In my view, such a requirement is broadly beneficial and should be adopted, provided that schools manage it carefully. The strongest argument in its favour concerns the development of young people themselves. Adolescents who regularly help others […]

Colour is a powerful tool that is used to great effect by manufacturers and retail companies when they try to sell us something. In fact, many of the purchasing decisions we make are partly or largely influenced by colour. How true is this statement? How much does colour influence us when we buy something?

Today, colour is widely used by companies in order to attract a myriad of costumers as a marketing tool. There are some factors that as we grow up, it is true that we develop preferences for colour, and these are shown in the products we buy. Also, psychologically it impacts when we decide what to […]
