Nowadays, many news channels and websites mostly show negative stories, such as crimes, disasters, or political problems. They often ignore positive news. I believe that this habit has a bad effect on people’s minds and also on society as a whole.
First of all, hearing too much negative news can make people feel stressed or worried. When we always hear about bad things like wars, accidents, or corruption, we may start to feel sad, scared, or even depressed. For example, during the COVID-19 pandemic, people watched a lot of news about death and danger. This made many of them feel hopeless or anxious. Over time, this can harm a person’s mental health and make them feel unsafe in the world.
Secondly, if society only sees bad news, people may start to believe that the world is full of problems. This can create fear, anger, or mistrust between people. For example, if the news always talks about crimes, people might think their city is very dangerous, even if it’s actually safe. This can make people stay at home more, trust others less, and feel negative about the future.
In conclusion, I believe that focusing too much on negative news can hurt both individuals and society. News should also show positive stories, like scientific progress, acts of kindness, or success stories. This would help people feel more hopeful and see the world in a more balanced way.
