Hollywood movies are becoming popular day by day in all the cultures around the world. I totally agree with this statement and in this essay, I will argue how domestic government can protect their culture from external influence with the help of their taxpayer’s money with examples.
Recently US film industry has become international. Therefore, certain cultures around the world has started to shift from their roots. National leaders are noticing this change and developing strategies to mitigate this wave. For example, in Turkey there is a propaganda series going own called ‘Ertugul’ which is initiated by the president for promoting their cultural identity. As a result, this initiative influenced people of Turkey to recollect the history and heritage of their country.
Additionally, modern wars are fought not with guns and tanks but by attacking cultures, therefore taxpayers’ money should be spent responsibly by the governments because it is in their obligation to protect the national identity. To illustrate, the government of India has put a strong censor board to give movies permit before releasing to general public in order to limit uncultured subjects in the movies influencing it people.
To conclude, I strongly agree with the notion of governments duty to invest in their industries, in the future I hope all the countries in the world should limit the influence otherworld industries.
