These days most of the meal or fruits are brought from overseas before it gets to our plate. Although, it was not a big issue to solve ages ago, the food travelling is becoming more and more. In this essay, I will give my own solutions to this food traveling problem.
The first major cause of the issue is that country such as Kazakhstan are not able to grow the same tropical fruits because of our climate. So instead of trying to grow, the country prefers import. At his process a lot of money and fuel to transport will be wasted. The solution is for government to put more money to import or to develop contracts with countries.
The second problem is, while bringing these food to countries, they may get rotten or spoiled. It means that meal around me get affected and spoiled too. This leads to extra waste of cash, which is not good for economy, including citizens who buys this products for expensive cost because of its long way. To tackle this issue, I think that government should invest more to food transportation to minimize the number of spoiled products and the maintain freshness.
The next issue is that products that travel thousands of miles may already been spoiled in storage.What I mean by that is a storage quality is may be low which increases food waste. The following solution is to either use eco-friendly packaging for meals or to promote the sustainable storages.
To sum up the food traveling is a process with problems due to its consequences such as food and fuel waste or low food quality. This is a serious problem and unless the government does not tackle this problem the number of waste does not stop.
