People have different views regarding the importance of building’s function in comparison to its exterior appearance. In my opinion, both factors are significant and should be taken into consideration depending on the type of the facility.
Initially, the outward appearance of the building is a fundamental factor affecting the view of people regarding the quality of any facility. Many people believe that the exterior design of the building is an element related to the attractiveness; therefore, the appearance of the building may affect indirectly the construction value. For example, for a company or private hospital, the outer design is crucial factor to convince individuals that this building has a high value and good services; thus, this would impact the economic status and the purpose of the construction of this project. Hence, the outer decoration of any institution should coincide with the target.
On the other hand, despite the aesthetic design, many people, on the contrary, focus on the goal of the facility, which is a significant factor related to the core of the building. Thus, the interior structure, the organization, and the capabilities available are remarkable factors impacting the successfulness of any project. To illustrate, the aesthetic design is not important factor if a hospital is not equipped with the required devices and medical doctors of a high quality. From my perspective, I reckon that a combination of the two mentioned elements is the key to a prosperous enterprise of any kind.
In conclusion, the exterior appearance and the construction purpose are considered major important factors contributing to the value of the building.
