In today’s world, animal species are in the edge of extinction as losing their habitat due to human impacts such as cutting down trees, urbanization and poaching. This essay will discuss the significance of preserving wildlife species before some feasible solutions.
I strongly believe that protecting animal species is essential. One of which is that they play a crucial role to maintain the ecological ability. In the ecosystem, animal species are served as preys or predators, which contributes to the balance of animals’ populations. So, if one of them becomes extinct, this would disrupt the balancing of the food chain and put the other animals or humans in danger. For instance, the over hunting of gray wolves in North America led to an explosion in deer populations as there were no natural predators to control their numbers.
Due to the importance of protecting animals, there are several measures to tackle it. To begin with governments, they should enforce stricter laws of poaching and trading wildlife species such as heavy fines for anyone who violates the laws. Regarding these laws, this would help to raise awareness of individuals or organizations about animal hunting as well as leading to the decline of endangered animals. For instance, Malaysia, which has the strictest laws, has succeeded in rescuing Pangolins from extinction. Additionally, there should be a control of housing constructions and urbanizations by the government. This would ensure that wildlife animals would have more space to live as well as regenerate their populations.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that preserving animals is really essential due to their roles in the ecological system. To better address this problem, I propose that the government should be stricter in enforcing the laws and controlling some housing projects.
