There is a view that technology negatively affects social interactions. Although technologies cause social isolation among populations, I believe that it improves communication with online conversations constantly.
Nowadays, using smartphones and computers too much can make people sit for long periods, which can cause problems with their posture, eyes, and sleep. As a result, they may feel tired and uncomfortable, and this can stop them from meeting friends or talking to people in real life. North Korea is the country with the healthiest people in the world because they don’t use technology. In North Korea, people use technology less because the government enforces very strict rules. For instance, in some areas, citizens are not allowed to use mobile phones or even drive cars. I believe that due to these strict regulations, people spend more time engaging in real-life interactions and personal activities. If similar rules were applied in our country, we might also focus more on meaningful personal connections instead of spending excessive time online.
However, I still hold the view that technology allows people to stay connected with friends and relatives through social media and video calls. For example, many people in modern society save time by using technology in their daily lives. However, individuals often overuse digital devices and devote excessive time to unproductive online activities, which can negatively affect their productivity. For instance, technology encourages people to spend hours scrolling through social media platforms instead of engaging in meaningful face-to-face conversations. As a result, they may feel isolated despite being constantly connected online.
In conclusion, although technology has many advantages, it can negatively affect social interactions. People may spend less time communicating face-to-face, which can weaken relationships. Therefore, technology should be used in a balanced way to maintain healthy social connections.
