Men and women are often seen as having various strengths and weaknesses. Is it right to exclude males or females from certain professions because of gender? I believe that work experience and knowledge do not depend on gender.
Firstly, I believe that gender does not play an important role in professions; for example, some men can be babysitters, and some women can be firefighters. It’s just an image in people’s minds that women are beautiful and helpless, and men are strong and clever. However, this is complete nonsense. Moreover, people are afraid of unusual situations, like a man who is a fashion designer. For example some people think that men cannot sew the clothes like women. However, this is simply a stereotype, because some men sew better than women. Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren and Karl Lagerfeld are famous fashion designers in this world. These men have demonstrated expectional sewing and designing skills, proving that gender does not determine profession ability.
Secondly, if some people have problems in their life, such as financial problems, which affect their children’s life, the person can do anything and does not need to focus on their gender. For example a single mother working two job can still provide for her children even though she faces many challenges traditionally seen as male.
In conclusion, I consider that gender does not play an essential role in work, it only depends on people’s work experience and knowledge, also I believe that gender is just biological topic and excluding a person from a profession simply based on their gender is completely unreasonable.
