There has been a growing trend amongst students to select other subjects rather than science in numerous nations. This essay will delve into some reasons behind this act and presume some impacts on civilization.

Firstly, there is already redundancy in some scientific sectors of the labor market, which implies possible unemployment and intimidation for learners to choose them. For example, the promise of job opportunities and prosperity in Information Technology attracted several high school pupils a decade ago and waves of enrollment at universities. However, this has caused the current imbalance in the labor force where companies have fewer demands on recruiting freshers with little experience. Therefore, this alarm of job scarcity has undermined children’s choice of non-social fields.

Besides, social studies have witnessed a proliferation in alluring job vacancies in developing territories. In the past, people’s concerns mostly revolved around sustenance adequacy, which was often provided by the dominant availability of jobs in science industries. Nonetheless, since these demands are already met, citizens start to cater more to their emotional health and the psychological fields flourish. Consequently, careers in social research have become more abundant and diverse.

The benefits of such changes can be tremendous in reducing crime rates and lifting economic growth. It is the introduction of non-scientific occupations that help address the job shortages. Should the unemployment proportion be minimized, citizens are less prone to committing misconduct caused by the unaffordability of basic utilities. In such cases, there shall be an increase in the productivity, which helps boost the economy of those countries

In conclusion, few students are engaged in science sectors because of job redundancies and the attraction of social studies. This shift may tackle the criminal problems and produce an economic boost.
