Many people think that sharing large quantity of data and information is a positive thing, especially in sciences and enterprise sectors, while others believe that sharing data is valuable without any limitations. The following paragraphs will elaborate further on this argument, and explain why I believe that sharing information is important.
On the one hand, proponents of the idea debate that the data produced by scientists’ work can allow students and researchers to access and cite this knowledge. For example, university students and researchers in educational institutions need access to certain topics to write and formulate their research projects. Therefore, journals and scientific sites should publish articles as open access to reach students. However, in the business sector, works must publish beneficial data to promote the business field in country.
On the other hand, advocates of the idea think that sharing data not only has very crucial value but it is also great importance, and should be accessible to all users. To clarify, much more data and information hold significant value for science research; this data is sensitive, so concerned organizations should protect this data from hackers and unwanted websites, as this data may be at risk. In addition, many companies involved business do not prefer to publish their work for public users, therefore, data must be protected and not accessed for anyone.
In my opinion, I believe that transmitting crucial information if used in a correct way. However, journals and publisher websites should offer access to read and cite the useful materials. Many electronic sites give free articles for researchers, to provide knowledge to all researchers in certain fields.
In conclusion, the permission of usage data by researchers and scientists is why some people believe that sharing data is useful. However, valuable information should be freely published for all users that are why I support the other point of view that sharing valuable information freely. Personally, sharing information is crucial in the research methods progress but in the right and legal manners
