Whether one prefers working for others or being their own boss depends on their mindset. In my opinion, the advantages of working for myself outweigh the limitations. I will delve into this topic and explain my reasons.
Working for oneself has its benefits as it allows the individual to pursue opportunities in order to achieve success in life. While starting a business doesn’t guarantee immediate success or wealth, it is worth trying. For instance, I established my own business at the age of 25. I faced losses in the first two years, but started making profits from the third year onwards. Though the path to success is challenging, the control and potential for higher earnings make it a worthwhile endeavor. Conversely, working for others usually means a fixed salary.
Furthermore, having a business of our own enables us to decide when to work and when to retire without the fear of being laid off. Many companies lay off employees during uncertain market conditions, leading to financial strain for many households. Having our own business can provide a stable income regardless of economic fluctuations, as long as the business is profitable.
Lastly, starting a business is not a guaranteed path to success, and some individuals may face losses. However, considering the brevity of life, it is important to strive towards our goals. As the famous basketball legend Michael Jordan said, ‘I can accept failure, but I can never accept not trying.’ Therefore, I believe that working for myself is the preferable choice.
