The flow chart provides visual information about how sugar is produced from sugar cane.
Looking from an overall perspective, the process involves 7 sequential stages, commencing with growing sugar canes and culminating with the drying and cooling of sugar.
In the initial stage, sugar canes are grown for a period between 12 and 18 months before being harvested either mechanically by tractor or manually. In the following step, the sugar canes undergo a crushing process in a special machine to be transformed into juice. In the fourth stage, the transformed juice is purified in a limestone filter before being heated in an evaporator to make a syrup. In the sixth stage, it undergoes a centrifuge process, where sugar is extracted from the syrup before it is dried and cooled in a large container in the final step
