Throughout the centuries, writing, reading and maths essential segment of education system. With the emergency of computers, some individuals believe that computer skill requires added an additional important skill list. From my perspective technological competency requires for many sectors in today’s world , I completely agree this statement.
Firstly, ICT literacy has become crucial in everyday life because nowadays banking, shopping, communication, and work can be easily done using computers. For example, people can transfer money online, shop for groceries without leaving their homes, and communicate instantly with others across the world. Without these digital skills, individuals may struggle to manage even basic daily tasks, which shows why ICT should be considered an essential skill. Therefore, it is necessary to include computer education in school curricula so that students are well-prepared for modern life.
Secondly, computer literacy plays a vital role in the job market. Most professions, from teaching and medicine to business and engineering, require at least basic digital knowledge. Furthermore, emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and automation will make ICT skills even more important in the future. Students who are proficient in digital tools will have a clear advantage in finding employment and succeeding in their careers.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that ICT literacy should be considered a fourth essential skill alongside reading, writing, and mathematics. Its importance in both daily life and professional success demonstrates that computer education must be integrated into school curricula to prepare students for the demands of the modern world.
