The line graph illustrates the number of books read by male and female students at Starmouth School from 2006 till the present .

Overall , it can be seen from the graph , girls reading novels experienced fastest growth throughout the period while boys experienced a downward trend and girls has read more books than boys throughout the period.

Initially , boys started with larger numbers of reading books than girls with over 50 books . It continued to increase gradually until it reach a peak in 2011 at 100 books then from 2011 to 2012 it started to decline sharply in numbers of books at 80 .

Reading books by girls started with the few number of books at the begining . from 2009 to 2010 it sharply rose from 30 to 40 books and during the 2011 it increased significanty to 100 and caught up the boys and in the 2012 it overtook males and reached peak at 140 books
