Should international tourism be encouraged and developed in our globalized world? Some believe it has advantages, as tourism can often provoke economic growth and, additionally, foster cultural codes for every country. I totally agree with this perspective, and in this essay, I will explain why.
The first reason why traveling to other countries is beneficial for the nations, is that it can bring a huge profit to the state. In other words, thousands of travelers can purchase numerous tours, go to museums and galleries, and book luxury hotels that local people usually do not. By investing in these tourist places, the government can easily earn a lot more, and eventually establish other aspects of the country. As a bright example, Dubai is one of the cities that annually earns enormous amounts of money through the tourism realm, by creating dozens of sights, museums, parks, and building impressive skyscrapers.
Another advantage of it is the cultural aspect. While some individuals may believe that international exchange can erase a unique cultural code, in reality it works the opposite. By demonstrating the country’s own traditions and history, it may attract more people interested in a new side of the world. That is why, civilizations that tend to show their cultural diversity end up with thousands of foreigners every year, by both remembering and respecting their heritage and sharing it with others. To illustrate, China has the richest history and a wide range of cultural traditions, and it became popular by demonstrating them to the world. Today, Chinese tea and dragons are the most well-known objects, and it fascinates tourists around the world.
In conclusion, tourism for sure has its benefits: economic and cultural. And by developing it, the government can notice a big (significant) positive change.
