The tables illustrate data about the consumption and production of potatoes in 2006.
In term of consumption, Europe had the highest number of kg per person, it was almost 96 kg. On the other hand, Africa had the lowest amount of kg for about 14 kg. Moreover, Asia, and South and Central America were fairly similar in consuption. Asia had almost 26 kg, while the USA stood at 24 kg. However, compared with other regions of America, North America was in a higher level, it had almost 58 kg.
In term of production, Europe also had a large number of kg at around 126 kg. However, Asia had the highest level of production approximately 131 kg. Similarly, Asia, and South America and Central America produced same figure of potatoes. Asia accounted for 16 kg, while other regions of the US made up nearly 16 kg too. Otherwise, North America produced more number of potatoes than other regions of the US.
Overall, Europe was the pest in consumption, while Asia produced a large number of potatoes. Moreover, North America’s level of consumption and production was much higher than other regions.
