In the last years oil is widely used as a source of energy and as a result a large amount of money is spend in order to find and extract it. However, since oil is not unlimited the resources will finish sooner or later. For this reason, more and more people are talking about using other sources of power. Although, oil is a very important recourse, this essay will argue that it is important that we direct our attention to new forms of power.
It is true that because oil is the most commonly used source of power technology on this direction has advanced a lot and extracting it nowadays is an easier operation than in the past, thus incredibly costly. Nevertheless, there are specific places around the globe where oil can be found and as a result the rest of the world depends on those regions and the specific companies that extract the oil to be supplied.
On the other hand, there are other sources of power like wind or solar that are easier to use and more eco-friendly. Exctacting oil is not only expensive but also polluting for the environment. For this reason, finding new forms of energy is of great importance. Another advantage of using wind and solar power is that they are not limited, on the contrary they are constantly provided by nature.
All in all, even though oil is a useful source of power, switching to more environmentally friendly and renewable sources will have more long term positive effects thus it is suggested to spend more resources to develop technologies on those forms of energy.
