The tendency to copy one another is a deeply ingrained human behavior driven by the innate desire for social belonging, validation, and acceptance. It is reflected in the trend for following fashion in clothes and other consumer items. I agree with this view because of global connectivity as well as crowd psychology.
The first argument in support of the trend of imitative behavior is the availability of the Internet in all countries. A lot of people can see some advertisements or some influencers who sell very trendy goods on the internet and they want to buy this or that product. For example, a huge number of women spent money on online marketplaces because of influence of trends in social media. Therefore, copycat behavior make people buy fashionable clothes or popular retail products, which is the result of mass psychology.
The second argument, in support of the trend for copying other people’s behavior is the impact of mob mentality phenomenon. As a matter of fact, a human is an animal who lives in groups so being like others is a guarantee of survival. For instance, if your tribe started living on the trees, each person also wants to live on the tree because he or she doesn’t want to be eaten. Consequently, people mirror other people’s manners on the level of instincts.
In conclusion, I agree that the inclination for people to be like someone else is demonstrated in the desire to consume fashionable clothes and popular consumption items. That is due to digital linkage of people as well as herd mentality. After all, Human nature assumes that they think the same way as others.
