Culture and traditions are considered as the identity of any society. Some people believe that now a days people have no interest in maintaining the culture and traditions of their county or region, while others believe that it is still important to people that they preserve a traditional way of life. This essay will discuss my views on both ideas. It will also discuss any relevant examples from my knowledge or experience.
With time people have changed their way of thinking about things and that ultimately has an effect of not caring about their traditions or culture. For example, earlier people used to get married to someone from the same cast, but now it has changed a lot, now people do not bother what the cast is if they want to marry someone. Similarly, earlier people used to do almost everything with their own traditions, whether it’s a marriage of someone or someone died, now that has changed quite well. Some people don’t even care about their native language, and they do not want to maintain it, they are teaching their children just English, while I think they still can teach both native and some other language, but they just do not want to keep it, and it doesn’t even bother them that they are losing their own identity and culture.
On the other hand, some people still care about and want to preserve their culture and traditions. For example, there are some religious people now as well who do not allow their children to marry someone outside the same sect. Also, there are people who still follows their culture and traditions, for instance, in Hindu culture if someone is dead, they will burn the person who is dead because this is part of their tradition while in Muslims, they’ll burry if someone is dead.
I think that people should keep their traditions and culture as this is what makes them different and set apart from other societies.
Concluding my views, there are both types of people, some who have no interest in maintaining their traditions and culture and some are those who still think it’s important to preserve their culture. This essay has discussed two different opinions of people about traditions and culture, it also has discussed my views regarding this and relevant examples from my own knowledge or experience.
