The pie charts below illustrate the proportion of student’s language taking diverse course in the year of 1985 and this year.
Generally, it is evident that there is a big shift between 1985 and this year around the modern language course along with a small change in art course as the other percentage keep rising and starting to get expand. While some proportion have a rather big adjustment, some subjects have been left behind and now grow a new IT course over the years.
When looking in the first diagram, we can see that languages are not only popular now but also back then, since it had more than a quarter of the chart with 24% and so far, was the most taken one by then, followed up it is the Fitness and dance with 22% of pupils taking it. Other than Music appreciation that only had 8% in total enrollment, the other subjects had similar number of students enroll in it with around 14-17% overall.
On the other hand, there are some changes in their interest that is more apparent in the next chart in line. There is a small decrease in percentage of them taking modern language along with Art class. While Fitness and dance still manages to stay the same, Cookery was most likely to have peeked students now more than back then with a rise of 5% in general. On the contrary, there are no sign of Music appreciation and Local history as it is now replaced by IT course that has now taken the majority of all the course particularly, showing a completely different pattern of students interest in various subjects between 1985 and the current year.
