Nowadays, some people believe that social networking has a negative effect on teenagers’ communication skills. However, others believe that these websites can be beneficial. In my point of view, both sides have their pros and cons.
To start with, social media can have a negative impact. Many teenagers today use various sites excessively, becoming overly dependent on them. This can lead to them becoming more isolated and affecting their behavior and personal relationships. For example, my little brother frequently uses Twitter and has online friends from abroad. Unfortunately, their influence has been negative, as he has become rude to our parents and more isolated.
On the other hand, social media also has its advantages. Young people use these sites to exchange ideas and experiences with online friends, which can broaden their mindset and bring people together. From my own experience, my close friend moved abroad, and we use video calls to communicate daily. These interactions improve my mood and provide valuable support, highlighting the positive aspects of social networking.
In conclusion, social media has both positive and negative impacts on young people. The effects depend on how individuals use these platforms, whether for good or bad purposes.
