Generally, it is obvious that the figure for Guitar, Piano, Drum triggered an upward trend while that of Violin shows a reverse pattern. Another striking feature is that the most favored lesson of school children was Guitar
Initially, Guitar was the most famous musical instrument for young generation with around 10%, 2 times as high as that of Drum. In addition, the proportion of children choosing Piano stood at 10% while the figure for Violin was approximately 7.5%. After 5 years, the figure for Guitar and Piano had a dramatic increase, at 20% and 17%, respectively. Meanwhile, the others remained unchanged.
In 2010, the number of students choosing Guitar and Piano continued rising and hit the highest point at 27% and 25%, respectively. Additionally, the percentage of school children learning to play Drum witnessed a slight increase, showing around 7.5% in total. By contrast, the students who picking violin as a subject was minimized by roughly 2%.
