The proportion of school children learning learning to play various musical instruments in 2005, 2010 and 2015 is depicted in the bar chart.
In general, as can be seen from the chart, there was an upward trend in the percentage of school children who wanted to play guitar, piano and drums, while violin experienced a sharp decrease.
Starting at 10 percent in 2005, the percentage of children who chose violin decreased gradually from 8 percent to 5 percent between 2010 and 2015. Piano and guitar stood at nearly the same figure initially, but in 2010 there was a noticeable increase in the percentage of children learning to play these instruments. After a noticeable increase in 2010, the percentage of children who wanted to play piano peaked at 38 percent and guitar 40 percent in 2015. The least chosen instrument was drums, whose figure was nearly the same between 2005 and 2010. But, by the end of the year the figure doubled from 5 percent to 10 percent.
