Overall, it is clear that Africa, Central Asia, South East Asia, and South America had the highest agriculture use, followed by industrial and domestic usage being the lowest. Meanwhile in North America and Europe, industrial use of the water had the highest rate, followed by agriculture and domestic use being at the bottom respectively.
In terms of agriculture use, Africa had the largest proportion, at 84%.; Central Asia, South Asia, and South America were 88%, 81%, and 71% respectively. The percentage of industrial and domestic use were relatively similar in these 4 countries. Domestic usage represented 19%, as the highest percentage in South America; 7% in both South East Asia and Central Asia; 9% in Africa. Industry usage was between 12% and 5% in these 4 countries.
Europe ranked first in industrial use, at 53%, while in North America, this accounted for 48%. In North America, agriculture and domestic use were 39% and 13% respectively. Meanwhile, in Europe, domestic usage was slightly higher that North America, at 15%, while in terms of agriculture use, it was 7% lower than North America.
