Overall, there were notable changes in the differences of qualification in both countries. Among Malaysians, no qualifications in science were significant, with approximately 65% rate, while 60% of Singaporeans had no qualifications in science. Likewise, School leaving exams as qualifications were also high among Malaysians, with accounting for around 35%, compared to 30% of Singaporeans.
Conversely, the proportion of Bachelor’s degree as qualification was held more by Singaporeans, at 20%, constituting twice as the Malaysians, at 10%. The figures for Master’s degree as science qualification in both countries were similar, standing at lower than 10%, making them the smallest percentages among the other qualification categories.
In summary, the number of people without any science qualifications was slightly higher in Malaysia than in Singapore, followed by qualification based on School leaving exams. However, Bachelor’s degree for science qualification was considerably higher among Singaporeans. Interestingly, the percentages for Master’s degree held by people in both nations were equal.
