Overall, all the age groups experienced a number increase after 4 years. In 2014, the highest percentage of Canadian internet users who shopped online were people aged in 26-35 years old by over 30%. However, in 2018, this position was held by 35-45 age by nearly 40%.
In 2014, 20% of people who made online purchases were in 15-25 age. The number increased for age group of 26-35, which its obviously became the highest percentage in that year. Nevertheless, the number fell significantly for the next age groups: 35-45, 45-55, 55-65, and over than 65. They were only 27%, 22%, 11%, and 6%, respectively.
In 2018, all the numbers went upward without exception. The most dramatic imcrease happened to 35-45 age, which its number peaked to around 38%. There was a notable increase in 45-55, 55-65, and over than 65 groups, which each of them increased for about 5% from the initial proportion. Additionally, both 15-25 and 25-35 groups only had a slight increase in number.
