Generally, the prices of three types of bread, such as brown, white, and rye, had an upward trend, while the cost of wholegrain bread had a downward trend. As for the prices, the lowest cost was the rye bread over the period researched.
The initial year recorded the largest price belonging to the wholegrain with 0.8 euros and hit a highest point at 1.8 euros. In comparison with only 0.6 euros per 800 grams of rye bread, then hit a lowest point at 0.5 euros in the same period. The wholegrain bread witnessed a significant price decline of 0.8 euros and continued to fall to nearly 0.8 euros by 2004. While the cost of rye bread increased slightly to the initial value in 2003 along with a stability at 0.6 euros for 800 grams for two years. In the last year, both of those bread witnessed a slow climb in price with 0.8 euros for wholegrain and 0.7 for rye.
The year 2001 recorded the same cost of brown and white bread of 0.6 euros per 800 grams. There was a sharp rise of 1 euro in the price of brown bread by 2002, followed by a fluctuation around 1.5 euros in the rest of the period. A steady growth of double was witnessed in the price of rye bread by 2005.
