The pie chart illustrates the proportions of American students at a university in the United States who were able to speak languages other than English between 2005 and 2015. Overall, the majority of American students did not learn any additional language and only able to speak English in both year. However, some of them still having the ability to talk in different languages, such as Spanish, French, German, and et cetera.
In 2005, English language are dominated at a university in United States, there are 45 percent of pupils using English as their main language. However, the percentage of students who are able to speak English only has sharply decreased to 30 percent in 2015. Moreover, two additional languages are added to their daily lives has also slightly decreased from 14 percent to 12 percent, respectively.
While those three languages decreased, Spanish holds the second of the most used language in the university, yet increases from 18 percent to 29 percent over the year. Moreover, French and another unknown languages are gradually increases throughout the period for about 2 to 4 percent. However, German remains the same over the same period, maintains it stable at 5 percent.
