The presented pie charts provide information about the percentages of readers from two different groups (18-25 years old and 26-34 years old) who preferred variuos types of books at the A&Z library in 2009. The categories of books consisted of science fiction, biographies, novels, and self-help books.
Overall, the most well-known genre for both age groups was self-help books although the younger generation had a higher percentage in this category. On the other hand, novels were more popular among the 18-25 age group as comprison with the older ones, while biographies saw an increased prefernce among those aged 26-34.
It is evident that biographies were not well-known among both variety aged groups. When it comes to 18-25 aged people, just 10% of them selected these types of books whereas 26-34 years old readers would rather at 31%. In detail, 58% of readers aged 18-25 preffered self-help books, making it the most significant category for this groups as opposite to the older group’s options are that 42% people read these categories of books.
Furthermore, 9% of the 18-25 age group preferred scinece fiction books, which was the fewest proportion, but bigger than that of the younger group. Novels were notably almost more popular among the younger group, accounting for 23% of their preferences. As far the older group, showed the amount of science-fiction books was the smallest one there, was composed of 7% of their preferences also followed by novels at 20%.
