The pie graphs compare the compositions of different cars sold in Australia in 3 years: 1994, 2004, and 2014.
Overall, there was an increase in the total quantity of cars and each category being sold, with sedans being the best-seller compared to other types. In addition, it is evident that while the proportion of Sedans decreased, the figure for SUVs and unnamed brands documented a reverse trend.
The year 1994 witnessed a total number of 42,900 cars sold, and three-quarter of those were sedans (31,700 cars). Simultaneously, 7% of the total cars were SUVs (3,003 cars), which was approximately one-third of unspecified types of cars (8,900 cars).
By 2014, while the quantity of sedans sold rose dramatically to 44,000 cars, its share experienced a drop to only 62% of the total automobiles. Furthermore, 17% and 7% of the total cars were SUVs and other categories, respectively. At the same time, both exhibited a surge in the number of cars being sold with 12,000 and 25,000 units, in that order. Ultimately, the total number of automobiles being bought in 2004 ascended to 71,000 cars.
The total quantity of this vehicle went up to 85,000 in the next 10 years. Although the Sedan suffered a slight fall by 1000 cars, the percentage of this type continually declined to a half. Conversely, the number of SUVs purchased doubled to 24,000 cars, occupying more than one-fourth of the whole market. In contrast, while the proportion of unnamed types remained unchanged, its quantity jumped down by 7,000 cars in 2004.
