The two diagrams illustrate how a school library was renovated in five years. It can be seen that the layout of the library still remains the same. However, there are several changes in details
Overall, it is evident that while some areas of the library have had their functions changed, the layout has mostly stayed the same, with the exception of a little variation in the number of study tables.
In particular, three nearby rooms were set aside five years ago in the west portion of the plan for a classroom, meeting room, and borrowing and returning desk. There was an office for the library to its east, and adjacent to it was a computer desk. There were two book shelves facing each other in the layout’s north and south halves. There was a four-table study space in between them that was also arguably in the middle.
In the current layout, the west’s rooms have been made smaller to provide two distinct areas for the returning and borrowing desks. Furthermore, a recording studio has been converted from the classroom. The library has been converted into a conference room on the east side, and the space that was intended for computer desks is now used by students as laptop workstations. Just one section of the book shelves, on the north side, now serves the same purpose as the workstations for students’ laptops in the east. Lastly, the number of study tables has expanded from four to six, and their access has been made private.
