Conversely, the percentage of people enjoying fast food restaurants once or twice per month declined from 30% in 2003 to 25% in 2006. However, it recovered, rising significantly to 33% in 2013 and becoming the most popular frequency. Approximately 17% of the US residents consumed fast food several times a week. This level increased to 20% in 2003 before falling to 16% in 2013. Meanwhile, the proportion of the US people who ate fast food a few times a year increased by 2%, reaching 15% in 2006, and staying at the same level by 2013.
On the other hand, the level of people who never ate in fast food restaurants, which began at 5% in 2003, saw a marginal fall to 4% in 2006 and remained stable until 2013. Similarly, the amount of US citizens who ate in fast food restaurants every day decreased from 4% to 3% in the first 3 years and remained unchanged by the final year.
