The maps illustrate how the town of Nelson has developed since 2000 until the present time. Overall, there have been dramatic alterations over the periods, the green space has been deforested, and the new facilities have been added, however, a university remains the same.
In 2000, Nelson had only two main buildings, the university and the train station, with an old market above the only street, whilst, a port and a city center were just the free spaces.
At present, Nelson Village has been redeveloped drastically, only the university at the top of the map remained on the same spot with a hall of residents has built nearby; thus, a forest has been destroyed and replaced with a newly shopping building, and a new train station has constructed in front of the university. Additionally, an old market has been removed and transformed into a new covered market on the opposite side, where the new shop has been replaced its previous spot. Furthermore, the city center has added a bike rental scheme; similarly, the port has constructed the food facilities spaces; likewise, the street has been transferred from vehicles-using to being used for pedestrians only.
