The two maps illustrate the remarkable development and considerable changes in Maritza town over the 30 year period, from 1984 to 2014.
There was significant improvement of Maritza where had an obvious urbanization. It was gradually transformed from a town, which just had some structure, into an area including many places that were becoming more and more outstanding.
Obviously, in 1984, there were two large Woodland in the Northeast and Southeast of Maritza that contained the noticeable spaces. However, the Woodland in the Northeast was flattened to make way for Skyscrapers which were built in 2014. Besides, the Southeast Woodland was replaced by the hospital and library which were relocated from Northwest.
Prior to the development, there was a chain of houses along the main road, which was demolished to set up the bigger chain of apartments. Although Maritza had several changes, there were some areas which remained unchanged such as the car park, restaurant, and school. Additionally, in the Southwest, the park was enlarged with more plants and trees in order to be more environmentally friendly.
