The pie charts are depicting the training of 5 sport types across the France in 3 different periods from 1990 to 2000 to 2010. The figures show a comparison of the sports interested by secondary school students.
Overall, tennis attracted the lowest rate of students over the given period. Out of all, swimming had the largest shares of percentages in all the three charts.
Particularly, going to swimming was the common interest of students in school, accounting for 39%, followed by basketball and football with the same indicator as 16%,and other types of sport at 25% in 1990. The tennis appeal only 4%. However, it has experienced significant change by the time, swimming rose to 48% in 2000, then declined slightly in 2010, but did not lose the dominance. Football increased slightly from 16% to 18%, but decreased sharplyb to 8% by 2010. The share of other sports also fell steadily from 25% to 9%.
Moreover, tennis remained stable first two period being the less popular with 4%, but then illustrate a little increase to 7% in 2010. When it comes to basketball, it slightly dropped from 16% to 7% in 2000, yet boosted into 25% by the 2010, becoming the second most popular sport in french school
