Overall, the charts meticulously illustrate the salient features of five preferred games- Tennis, Swimming, Basketball, Football, and others in French senior classes for three years. While swimming was the most popular game in the region, Tennis was the least famous sports in the given years. Moreover, almost all the sports noticed fluctuations in the popularity level over the period of time; fame of other sports declined gradually.
In 1990, swimming was the most popular sport with a significant percentage of student involvement, at 39%, followed by other games (25%), football (16%) and basketball (16%), whereas tennis (4%) was the least desired game. In 2000, the proportion of students participating in swimming and football rose to 48% and 18%, respectively. The percentage of players playing basketball and other games dropped, to 7% and 23% respectively. However, the popularity of tennis remained constant at 4%.
In 2010, the percentage of players favouring swimming, football, and other sports declined, to 41%, 8%, and 19%, individually. Nevertheless, the fame of baskeball increased dramatically to 25%, and for tennis it rose marginally by 3% in a decade.
