The pie chart compares how many new cars were sold in total, Australia, namely SUVs, sedans, and others categories of vehicles, over the course of 19 years, in 1984, 1993, and 2013. The data is expressed in percentages.
Looking from an overall perspective, the data reveals that the most popular types of automobiles were sedans, being the leading choice in all three years, while SUVs were relatively higher than other types of cars. Another notable point presented by chart is that SUVs remained unchanged during the last two years
Moving into details, the proportion of Sedans was the most primary mode of cars, accounting for nearly three quarters, a trend that starkly contrasts with the percentage of SUVs, which witnessed a minimal share of seven percent in 1994. Meanwhile, figures for other automobiles were nearly a fifth during the same year.
In 2004, the proportion of Sedans saw a gradual decrease, bottoming at 62 percent compared to ten percent increase in the rate of SUVs, from seven percent to a tenth, followed by a marginal rise in the proportion of other cars. The percentage of SUVs remained stable, whereas figures for other types of vehicles increased modestly from 21 percent to 32 percent compared to significant decrease in the rate of Sedans, being at just half.
