The given table demonstrates the rate of government expenditure on education and training and the engagement of people who are in the 18 to 24 age bracket in five major countries in the year 2012.
Overall, the participation rate had higher figures compared to expenditure rate. Meanwhile, Poland was responsible for the highest volume of participation, the lowest percentage was witnessed in spending on education and training.
While Poland took the lion’s share of the participation rate, accounting for 44%, the highest figure for the expenditure rate was in Slovenia, at one – fourth. Only 5% of government spending on education and training in Poland and the engagement rate was noticeably higher in Slovenia, constituting 40%.
The figure for the expenditure rate in Hungary and Romania was slightly lower, with expenditure levels of 13% and 10%, respectively. In contrast, the proportion of participation was noticeably higher in both countries, at 34% and 23%, respectively. Likewise, the Czech Republic had lower figures for both categories, at only 9% for the expenditure rate and 27% for the participation rate.
