Overall, it is clear that the proportion of female employees in all jobs increased, with the exception of the percentage of female producer and female director, which witnessed a downward tendency.
The percentage of woman costume designers, editors, and writers experienced an upward trend from 1994 to 2003. Starting from 74.2% in 1994, the percentage of female costume designer experienced a slight increase to 76.1% in the end, and it was the highest percentage throughout the period compared with that of other jobs, whereas the percentage of change was only 2.5%. By contrast, the percentage of female working as editors and writers was fewer than that of former job, both fluctuating between 10% and 14% from 1994 to 2003, but the percentage of change was more dramatic, with 22.8% and 20.0%, respectively.
In terms of the jobs of producer and director, however, it was less favour by woman in 2003. Especially female producers, the proportion of change experience a dramatic decline, with -34.0%, and the gap of the percentage of female producers between 1994 and 2003 was 5.3%, which was also the highest figure compared with other jobs, with 15.6% in 1994 and 10.3% in 2003. In comparison, the percentage of female directors also witnessed a decrease but it was more marginally, from 5.0% to 3.0%, which was the lowest figure in the given period, and the percentage of change was also lower than others, with -40%.
