The first table gives data about the hours per day spent by kids in front of the television in various countries, while the second one illustrates the level of education reached by people in the same countries. Overall, it is clear that people living in nations where children have more screen time, also complete higher levels of education.
Regarding the hours of TV per day, USA, Canada and UK are the states where juveniles have more screen time, with an average of 4 hours every day, followed by China and Italy with 3 hours. In India and Brazil, kids are in front of the television for 2 hours daily, while in UAE and Malta only for 2 hours, the lowest amount among the countries taken into account.
For what concerns academic achievements, primary school is completed by 100% of citizens in Italy, Canada and Malta, while in all the other countries the percentage is between 95% and 99%. The exception is India, where only 80% of children complete school. High school diploma is achieved by 100 % of people in Malta, and over 90% in Italy, UAE and Canada. In the 80% range is Brazil, USA and UK. India and China have the lowest level with, respectively, 60% and 68% of people completing high school. At a University level, UK and Canada have the highest figures, with 39% and 32%, followed by USA (29%). In China, Italy and Brazil, people reaching a university degree amounted around 24%, while in UAE and Malta, less then 20%. The country with the lowest average of graduated is India (12%).
