The graphic illustrates the step-by-step process of ketchup production, from picking tomatoes to transporting to supermarkets.
Overall, it is a linear man-made, minimally involving manual labour process, divided into 3 main features: sorting products, sauce cooking and delivery.
The procedure starts with the selecting vegetables by hand and putting in basket. Once the decent and rotten ones have been sorted, they are then sent onto a factory. There, a stalk, seeds and skin are removed from tomato.
After that, tomatoes are putted in a special container and crushed into a liquid sauce. After adding the flavor enhancers such as sugar, salt, and vinegar, the ketchup is boiled and left to cool. Subsequently being bottled, the done sauce is labeled and then tested for quality control. Finally, the ketchup bottles are packed into boxes and transported to supermarkets, where customers can buy it from.
