starting from 2002 the percentage of student that had their own phone was close to zero, while almost 50% of the parents already owned a phone.

continuing to grow exponentially, the number of people nationwide rose from 60% in 2002 to 85% in 2006, while at jenny’s school both parents and students percentage increased of 25%.

from 2012, the number of parents who owned a phone kept growing steadily, however the one of students went form 25% to almost 75% in only four years reaching its peak. in 2016, consequently, the gap was not huge as in was in 2002, in fact in that same year the percentage of people who owned a phone nationwide was 96%.

to sum up it is clear that the ownership of a cell phone only increased over time, in all the generations, and it is almost certain that it will continue to grow rapidly.
