Band 7+: Day 1- With the increasing use of mobile phones and computers, fewer people are writing letters. Some people think that the traditional skill of writing letters will disappear completely. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In the past, writing letters was a primary means of communication. However, with the rapid development of the Internet, traditional letters have become obsolete and are gradually disappearing.

In my opinion, I completely agree with this statement, and in this essay, I will argue and provide examples to support my viewpoint.

The convenience of using high-tech devices is undeniable. With the emergence of numerous social networking platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger, individuals can easily access their friends on the Internet with a portable mobile phone, without any inconvenience. In contrast, writing a letter is more problematic, involving time-consuming efforts to write, send, and possibly lose the letter in transit, especially when sending it to a different country.

Furthermore, computers are not only easy to use for texting but also offer various gadgets. Video calls are one of the most powerful features of computers. With an internet connection, people can have a video meeting, saving time, money, and resources. Instead of writing a letter, having a call is more convenient as it allows for direct communication and visual interaction.

In conclusion, creating a letter is more time-consuming, requiring numerous steps. However, people should not eliminate letters from their lives, as they can convey emotions that texting cannot replicate.
